FAQ
Can I bring my mug from previous years?
Yes! Here’s how it’ll work: We will have 0.5L AND 1L Steins available for purchase and once purchased are yours to keep and refill throughout the weekend. If you have an Emancipation Stein from previous years, feel free to bring it in (clean) and use it all weekend! If you prefer not to purchase or bring in an Emancipation Stein, beers will be available in 5oz, 12oz or 16oz plastic cups. If you purchase a stein this year, you’ll be welcome to bring it back next year to use at Barntoberfest 2026.
Will I need to buy drink tickets?
No! In the interest of simplifying, Barntoberfest will work like any other day at Emancipation. Feel free to open a tab or pay as you go. Tabs can be added to both inside the Taproom and at the Tapshack. If you need to retrieve your card to use it at a food vendor, go to the main bar and we’ll close out your tab or trade you for your driver’s license.
Are Kids welcome?
Yes! As always, Emancipation is very kid-friendly. Emancipation expects that your kids to be within your eyesight at all times for their safety.
Will there be non-German Beers available?
Yes! While we brew several authentic German-Style beers for Barntoberfest, we understand that not everyone loves German Beer. So, we’ll have a few other non-German Beer options, as well as Hard Cider, Mead, NA Beers, Soda, and Coffee.
Can I park on the roadside?
No. Due to being peak Harvest time, our local farmers need all the space they can get. We’ll have plenty of parking between our main parking lot and our overflow grass lot. Please refer to the diagram above for more information.
Can I brink my dog?
Yes, but we ask that they be only outside, and always leashed. Please use your judgement in deciding whether your pup will be well-behaved and feel comfortable with large amounts of people around.
How do I participate in the games?
For the Stein Hoisting Competition we will make an announcement each day. The Stein Hoisting Competition is free to play! For the Bags Tournament their will be a registration link on our website closer to the event date, and costs $40 per team.
Should I bring a chair?
Feel free to bring a lawn chair if you’d like - we’ll have lots of tables and chairs between the Taproom, Lean-To, Patio, and Tents But, it never hurts to be prepared!
Can I reserve a fire pit?
No, the fire pits are first come, first served. They’ll be in use all weekend long (weather permitting), so we hope you get a chance to enjoy them if you want to.
Will you be offering Oktoberfest Beers to go?
Yes, you can get a growler fill of almost any beer on draft that we don’t have available in cans or bottles, plus lots of canned options. Please note that wait times for growler fills may be extended, so we suggest letting the bar staff know what you’d like when you arrive so they can prepare it while you’re enjoying Barntoberfest. Then, you can pick it up when you leave. We’ll also have plenty of other beer available to-go.
Are you open on Thursday, 9/11?
No! In preparation for Barntoberfest Weekend, we’ll be closed on Thursday, 9/11.
Can I order a flight?
Not this weekend! In the interest of quality and speedy service, we’ve decided to simplify serving sizes. Next week when we return to normal service, flights will return! Beers will be available in 5oz, 12oz or 16oz plastic cups, or 0.5L and 1L German Steins which will be for sale!
Please contact us with any questions! Prost!
We can’t wait to celebrate YEAR 7 of Barntoberfest!
